For the floor
The primary source of sound insulation for a car is the floor of the vehicle.
External noise from the road and the car’s own microvibrations create an environment of significant noise if the following systems are not in place:
Layer One | On the floor of the cabin is a layer of vibration cushioning material: Alumast |
---|---|
Layer Two | On the floor of the cabin is a second layer of sound absorbing material: BB-Ton |
Layer Three | In the wheel wells located in the floor is a layer of vibration cushioning material: Kombi |
Layer Four | In the wheel wells located in the floor is a second layer of sound absorbing materials: BB-Ton |
Layer Five | In the floor of the boot is a layer of vibration cushioning material: Alumast |
Layer Six | In the floor of the boot is a second layer of sound absorbing material: SGM-izol |
These isolating systems can decrease cabin noise by as much as 3-6 dB on separate frequencies.
